In these new article, I will be writing about (FTA) which stands for Free to Air. Unlike other television decoder services, such as DSTV and GOTV, FTA satellites don’t come with a subscription prices.
All you have to do is to pay once for the equipment and the installation, and that’s it! Another benefit of choosing to watch free-to-air channels is that they don’t require multiple decoders. With the right knowledge, you can watch numerous satellites with just one.
The type of FTA channels you will locate depends on the size of the dish you have and also in the direction it’s pointed at. If you want to receive a bigger number of channels, we recommend using a larger dish (at least 1.8 m) with a C-band.
Just keep in mind, that most channels you will get may not be particularly exciting. But if you take into account that you only pay once and have such a broad choice, it’s definitely worth it. Especially, if you factor in that the number of free to air channels increases by the month.
Requirements for FTA satellite tracking:
- Money for the equipment; A
- Satellite Dish;
- KU Band LNBF;
- A Decoder;
Radio Frequency cables and codes.
Installing the Satellite is easy and straightforward. These can be done using specifically the manual that comes with the equipment. Although getting all the channels you want requires practice or a professional installer.
As we mentioned above, if you live in Nigeria and you have either a 0.6-0.9 or a 1.8 m dish, and a proper decoder, you can gain access to top-quality television packages. Here’s a list of the latest free to air satellites that will broaden your choice of channels:
